Description

The Astronaut Pushers represents a unique collaboration among some of Nashville’s notable musicians from the vibrant late ’90s scene. The group includes Grammy and Academy Award-nominated songwriter Sam Ashworth, John Davis of Superdrag, Lindsay Jamieson, previously with Ben Folds, and Matt Slocum of Sixpence None the Richer. Initially self-released on a limited CD basis, this four-song EP captures a wide range of styles, reflecting the high level of artistry of its members. It was reissued on vinyl by Lost In Ohio in 2022. The project began as informal jam sessions at Slocum’s house and quickly evolved into regular performances at local venues, drawing significant attention from the local music community. This release not only revisits their original recordings but also celebrates their recent reunion for new music production, marked by the track “Fires Of Love,” accompanied by contemporary remixes featured on the newly presented 12″ vinyl.
