Divine Hand Ensemble

The Divine Hand Ensemble is a unique musical group that defies traditional categorization, led by the concert thereminist Mano Divina Giannone. This ensemble is renowned for its electrifying performances that blend classical music with an ethereal, other-worldly sound, primarily produced by the theremin. The theremin, played by Mano Divina, is an electronic musical instrument controlled without physical contact by the thereminist. It’s known for its haunting, voice-like sound, which Mano Divina skillfully bends with his hands to release angelic voices from his fingertips.

The group’s composition includes not just the theremin but also an exquisite array of instruments, including a string quartet, two harps, a vibraphone, and an accordion. This rich musical arrangement provides a backdrop that enhances the theremin’s ethereal sounds, creating a unique auditory experience for the audience.

The Divine Hand Ensemble has entertained international audiences and has been appreciated by figures such as film directors M. Night Shyamalan and David Lynch, Pope Francis, the President of the UN, and the Royal Family of Serbia. Their performances are more than just concerts; they are immersive experiences that blend music, magic, and entertainment into a memorable spectacle.

Aria 51
The album “Aria 51” showcases an eclectic collection of covers from an array of iconic artists, including The Specials, Frank Zappa, Andrew Lloyd Weber, David Bowie, and others. This album exemplifies the unparalleled versatility and broad musical repertoire of The Divine Hand Ensemble. Not many bands possess the unique capability to transition seamlessly from performing at a 16th-century funerary concert in a cemetery, to opening for Pope Francis’ world address, and then to backing the Lady in the Radiator from David Lynch’s “Eraserhead” – all within the span of a single week. The Divine Hand Ensemble is truly exceptional, defying conventional boundaries with their extraordinary performances.
